With the colder weather comes staying indoors and visitations from relatives, so it’s time to redo your abode so it’s not so humble. Sew Up a Home Makeover by Lexie Barnes is our new must buy book. I might not always sew a straight line but even I can cut up a old floral skirt and use a glue gun on a lampshade (page 116) or staple fabric to frames (page 55). After seeing the difference my staple and glue gun I did start eyeing my closet and getting this strange urge for a sewing machine and journal so I could recover it (page 134).
For the more adventurous there are easy instructions and templates from everything from Japanese Yukata Robes to sofa covers. I’ve got to admit living someplace decorated so pretty, does make one feel like a true Diva.
